Nürburgring Nordschleife Spyshots August 2007
Today the Autoholic.de crew once again took a hike around the notorious Nürburgring Nordschleife. Just like last year we brought along lots of spyshots and videos of the latest cars being tested on the lovely mountain track in ze Eifel mauntains.
Mercedes SL
The next generation SL was on the track under heavy camouflage. Obviously the large Mercedes Roadster will get a hardtop again. The proportions of the car being tested today look more or like like the current SL model. Probably the bonnet is a little bit longer. Otherwise there is not much to say about the design, du to the heavy tape-job. The driver didn't seem to push the car particularly and judging by the noise the engine must have been a small one as well. So probably the SL is still in a rather early stage of testing.
Porsche Panamera
Nice camouflage job on the window outlines. Really doesn't look very good. The Porsche Panamera parked right before the Karusell, when I came down. Probably they check some car stats (temperature?) after the long and fast part to this corner. The quickly moved, when I was beginning to take pictures.
Audi R10
Looks just like the R8. Way faster. Way louder.
Audi RS6 wagon
The Rs6 Wagon was driving in the same nice looking black-and-white camouflage as the RS6 earlier this year. Nice paintjob.
BMW M3 Convertible
Yeah, well... Looks like the E92 M3 Coupe with a foldable hard top. That's pretty much it. The engine noise was quite nice, but compared to other cars on the track, like a 997 convertible, kinda disappointing. I had the the same feeling, when I first heard the engine noise of the M3 Coupe. They were going quite fast with the car, which seems to be fitted with an ordinary stick shift. No DSG yet.
The little, red thingy next to the front number-plate looks suspiciously like a transponder that are used to track lap times.
Mercedes C class wagon
Camouflaged car of the C class wagon.
Mercedes C63 AMG wagon
Same as above. Only louder. And faster.
Some 997 and a Cayenne Turbo were doing one lap after another. Don't know what those boys where up to. Probably just testing some new setup, engine stage or whatever. A 997 GT2 was by far the loudest car today. There were also
a lot of cars from supplier companies. Mostly 3 series and Mercedes C and E Class. Those guys a re really pushing the envelope, when they test their new tires, brakes or whatever parts. There where some nice and smoky drifts by those cars.
